Dr. Baker’s love of the dental profession began at an early age when she spent a lot of time in her father’s dental practice. She learned first-hand the vast impact the dental profession can make on people’s lives by not only improving the beauty of a smile, but also its function.
Dr. Baker graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance and Marketing. She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from Louisiana State University where she was inducted into the C. Edmund Kells Honor Society and was awarded the outstanding student in implant dentistry award by the Academy of Osseointegration. Dr. Baker then completed a post doctoral specialty program at Jacksonville University in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. During her orthodontic residency, Dr. Baker served as class president and received several awards such as the outstanding resident clinician award for consistently demonstrating both outstanding diagnostic acumen coupled with superior clinical skills, the outstanding research award for diligent research efforts resulting in the years most outstanding research project, and the Theodore L. Jerrold Memorial award for clinical proficiency, clarity of thought, concern for the patients welfare, and the desire to better the profession. In addition to being a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Colorado Dental Association, and the Metropolitan Denver Dental Society, Dr. Baker also has extended study in the area of temporomandibular joint dysfunction diagnosis and treatment. Currently she is committed to an intensive two year post graduate course with the AEO (Advanced Education in Orthodontics) group. This course is geared specifically towards facial esthetics and functional occlusion which focuses on aligning the teeth in harmony with the jaw joints to produce a stable foundation for lifelong support.
Dr. Baker enjoys spending time with her husband, Scott, whom she met in dental school and their Labrador Retriever, Roux. Aside from dentistry, she enjoys hiking, skiing, traveling, cooking, reading, and watching movies.
